Honey Garlic Shrimp

  • 1lb shrimp, peeled and deveined 
  • 1 TBSP light soy sauce
  • 1 TBSP cornstarch
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 TBSP ginger paste or grated ginger 
  • 4 TBSP honey 
  • 1/4 TSP chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, for garnish 

Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl combine the soy sauce and cornstarch, then add the shrimp and toss to combine. Set aside till needed.
  2. Heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan and cook minced garlic with ginger for no longer than 30 seconds over medium heat, then add the shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side depending on the size of the shrimp.
  3. Pour in honey and chili flakes if using, toss to coat the shrimp and take off the heat. Sprinkle with sliced green onions for garnish. Serve over rice or as a starter.
