Have you noticed teddy bears and other stuffed animals peeking out at you from windows around your neighborhood? With families across Washington, and the country, adhering to social distancing guidelines, parents are hard pressed to keep their children educated and entertained while stuck at home. The stuffed bears are part of an effort to offer a “bear hunt” to children for a bit of fun.
The scavenger hunt for teddy bears is popping up in neighborhoods all over. Parents are welcoming the opportunity to engage their young ones in an active game while taking walks or drives. Children are encouraged to keep an eye out for all kinds of bears and stuffed animals cheerfully arranged in the windows of homes in many neighborhoods.
O Bee is joining the fun by putting up images of our beloved Berenstain Bears in our branch windows. One of our branch managers, Elizabeth, came up with the idea when she heard from fellow parents who were having trouble finding bears in windows of their own neighborhoods. Maybe you have a teddy that could “come out of retirement” to help spread some joy? Join us in filling your windows with bears and stuffed animals. It is a small gesture, but those are often the most meaningful.
