Support and Service
Credit unions don’t simply provide financial services—we provide financial services for the purpose of improving lives. O Bee lives by the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.” While our first responsibility is to our members, being part of a cooperative movement means looking beyond our walls to the larger community. This outlook drives us to support worthwhile charitable and social causes, and to work with other credit unions to this end.
As a member-owned financial institution, O Bee Credit Union is dedicated to promoting the strength and vitality of the communities we serve. To accomplish this task, we continually seek out opportunities to offer time and resources in ways that will make a difference for the communities where our members live and work.
16 Hours Well Spent
O Bee employees are offered 16 hours of paid leave per year to volunteer in the community with all kinds of organizations. They tell us what they want to do, we say, “Go for it!” Our employees lug boxes at local food banks, harvest crops, cook and sew for the homeless, organize auctions, head up committees, bundle recyclables, collect rubbish from roadsides, teach Junior Achievement in elementary schools, deliver holiday gifts, and even help to guide lost hikers from our forests. With so much good going on inside and outside our branches we can’t help but be grateful for our many dedicated staff who make O Bee, and our community, a better place.
A Kaleidoscope of Giving
O Bee Credit Union has had the honor of sponsoring a kaleidoscope of worthy organizations doing amazing work in our community. Sponsorship opportunities are available through our Gifts & Donations Committee. Organizations that wish to apply for sponsorship should complete our online application. Sponsorship for individuals will not be considered. The committee meets quarterly and applicants will be notified of committee decisions on a rolling basis.
Proud of Thurston and Beyond
O Bee worked with local film makers and the Olympia | Lacey | Tumwater Visitor and Convention Bureau to produce this bird's-eye-view of the places that make Thurston County jaw-droppingly beautiful. There's no place like home. Enjoy!
