Stay at Home: Arts & Culture

Did you know that aquariums, museums, zoos and historical sites, even NASA, are offering free virtual tours while they’re closed? Here’s a list of different websites that offer virtual tours to keep the kids learning and entertained while staying close to home. Hey, you might even learn something new, too!

Google Arts & Culture lets you explore hundreds of art museums, history museums, historical sites and National Parks right from the comfort (and safety) of your own home. Explore Bryce Canyon in Utah or the Doge’s Palace in Venice. Take a virtual tour of Machu Pichu or the Vatican. The possibilities are endless.

Smithsonian Museum of Natural History offers virtual tours of its current exhibits. Explore the Eternal Life in Ancient Egypt exhibit or the David H. Koch Hall of Human Origins. There are fascinating things to learn around every corner. Explore!

Monterey Bay Aquarium has 10 webcams live streaming different aquarium exhibits. Tune into their Coral Reef Cam, Moon Jelly Cam, Open Sea Cam or Sea Otter Cam for some fun and learning.

NASA Langley Research Center is giving virtual tours of their facilities in Hampton, Virginia. Choose from a list of attractions, like Manufacturing and Assembly In-Space with Robotics, you and the kiddos can explore together.

The Metropolitan Opera. Okay the kids are down for the night, it’s time to tune into the Opera. Every night the Met will be streaming encore presentations of their Live in HD series for free.
