The Olympia Brewery stirs up imagery and memories for most people in our community. Whether it’s a picture in your head of the old brick tower, the taste of your first sip of Oly beer, or the iconic logo that is all over town; Olympia Brewery is part of our story. This is especially true for us at O Bee. In the early 1950s a brewery worker named Ted McGill got the idea to start a small financial co-op for his fellow workers. His idea, born on the brew house floor, became O Bee Credit Union. Sixty-plus years later we are proud to carry the legacy of the brewery into the future. Our culture, image and people reflect our brewery heritage. It could be said that beer is in our blood! We think there is no better way to celebrate that legacy than to imbibe in the very thing that started it all – beer! You’re invited to join us this spring for the inaugural O Bee Happy Hour. O Bee will be hosting free beer tastings at many of our branches this spring and summer. We are collaborating with some of the finest craft brewers in the area to put a smile on your face and to showcase that, while the brewery may have closed, brewing is alive and well --all with two words: free beer. We’ll have other surprises as well, including light snacks, root beer for the kids, music, games and prizes. Join us to celebrate our brewery heritage and welcome the sunny weather.
