Lobbies to Gradually Reopen


May 15, 2020 - In the past months, we have all had a shared experience that has impacted our daily lives in ways previously unimaginable. However, no matter how much has changed, O Bee’s continued commitment to providing critical services and care to our membership has never wavered. The challenge, of course, is how to do so in a way that is safe for both our membership and valued employees.

Since we first decided to close our lobbies, we have been planning how to eventually reopen them in a safe and responsible manner. This includes establishing new safety protocols, specialized training for our team, and investing resources to allow for a phased reopening. After careful consideration, including consultations with health experts, we are excited to announce the reopening of three of our branch lobbies.

PHASE I (Additional branch lobbies will reopen in subsequent weeks):

Tenino: M-F Normal Hours. Branch Closed Saturdays.
West Olympia: M-F Normal Hours. Branch Closed Saturdays.
Yelm: M-F Normal Hours. Branch Closed Saturdays.

Fern Hill: M-F Normal Hours. Branch Closed Saturdays.
Lacey: Normal Hours
Tumwater: Normal Hours

Point Ruston: Branch Temporarily Closed

Changes you will see in this new branch experience:

  • Re-engineered branch space to allow for proper distancing, exit/entrance, and flow
  • Plexiglass safety shields and barriers
  • Increased inventory of PPE for employees
  • Limits on the number of members allowed in a branch at any one time
  • No restroom access for members and suspension of water and coffee service
  • Special procedures for team safety engineered around CDC guidelines and best practices
  • Specialized signage and other communication for members
  • Adjusted hours of operation. Saturday hours will be impacted due to staffing.

To assure the safety of members and our employees, we continue to require appointments for the following:

  • Loans
  • Notary
  • Safe Deposit Box
  • New Accounts
  • Business Deposits
  • Savings Bond Redemption

This is not a step we take lightly, but one we approach slowly and with care. We encourage you to continue using our low contact services, such as the Contact Center as well as online and mobile banking. We understand, however, that there are some issues that cannot be adequately addressed through these channels.

This new format is not the O Bee of yesterday, but rather the new reality we all face. Always remember we are here for you. Be safe.
