Calendars Are Here!
Men in bowler hats, women in tightly corseted skirts and folks driving Model T cars are just a few of the images featured in the O Bee 2019 calendar. Now in its 12th year, this years’ calendar spotlights more clever ways the Olympia Beer Company advertised its beer and stoked a loyal fan base. From gold rush-era log structures in Fairbanks, Alaska, to turn-of-the-century brick storefronts in Fresno, California, Olympia Beer was advertised widely throughout the west. Our Calendar features some of their huge, hand-painted billboards, banners and even a water tower used as a roadside attraction! Be sure to pick up a calendar (or two) at any branch while supplies last.
Finally, you might recognize a familiar scene in these ads which make up the Olympia Beer Label: the waterfall and bridge at Tumwater Falls Park. This beautiful park is maintained by the non-profit Olympia Tumwater Foundation. In addition to providing O Bee with access to their historic archives for our calendar, the Foundation works every day to preserve the park and keep it open to the public at no charge. The Foundation needs your support to keep doing this important work. Please consider making a donation to help them continue. We all want to see the park open and flourishing for many years to come.
