Free Wildflower Seeds!

To celebrate the arrival of spring, once again we’re offering free packets of O Bee Happy Wildflower Seeds. Not only will these flower seeds add color and cheer to your garden, they will also attract an assortment of important winged visitors. This unique wildflower seed mix is designed to attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. These pollinators are vital to a healthy garden and without them our food supply would have less variety. In fact, if bees ceased pollinating our crops, some of the foods that would no longer exist include broccoli, asparagus, cantaloupes, cucumbers, pumpkins, blueberries, watermelons, almonds, apples, cranberries, and cherries.

But pollinator insects are in trouble. Their decline is due to overuse of garden chemicals, habitat loss, and pests like the varroa mite that preys on honey bees.
The good news is your packet of O Bee Happy Wildflower Seeds includes bee balm, blanket flower, butterfly milkweed, blue sage, California poppy, crimson clover, lacy phacelia, lance-leaf coreopsis, lemon mint, Mexican hat, partridge peas, perennial and annual lupine, purple coneflower, Rocky Mountain penstemon, and sunflower. A delicious mix sure to entice a number of pollinating guests to your garden.

Seed planting tips:
1. Sow seeds from early spring through fall.
2. Mix seeds with a cup of sand or soil and spread over a previously prepared, weed-free area up to 16 square feet.
3. Lightly rake into soil or cover with light soil to depth of 1/8 inch.
4. Keep soil moist when germinating.
5. Water when necessary.
