With Mother’s Day on the horizon, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate all the amazing moms in our community. It’s safe to say that a mom’s job is never done. A few moms on the O Bee team were brave enough to share some relatable moments about being a mom. Enjoy!
I did not know I had a smart TV until baby shark interrupted a football game a few years back. I could not figure out what was happening. My three-year-old was giddy and showed me that the "square with the circle lines" was magic and "teleported the phone to the TV." -Annie G.
When my son was three years old, he and I were visiting a friend’s house when the 2001 Nisqually Earthquake suddenly hit. After it was all over, my friend’s neighbor came by to check on her. When the neighbor stepped into her house my son said, “Don’t come in here, her house shakes!” My son has always been concerned for others and now 20 years later, he will soon become a police officer. -Shauna H.

My two-year-old son couldn’t say ambulance and instead said "dangerance." Frankly, I think dangerance makes more sense. When you are in danger, the dangerance comes to the rescue! -Annie G.
Alarm clock, short order cook, chauffeur, private tutor, full time teacher, rule enforcer, nurse, counselor, janitor, personal stylist…the list goes on and on. The many hats of being a Mom is exhausting but even more rewarding. The amount of questions you answer throughout a day is endless. The laundry piles seem to never stop growing. The pantry is a constant revolving door.
Working from home, with a ten- and eight-year-old in school part-time and a busier by-the-day 5-month-old is a juggle. If I could be any animal, I would be an octopus to have more hands available to meet their many needs. Thankful to have a job I love and have the opportunity to be a full-time mom all at the same time. In short -- remote work with kids is like a blender with no lid, but the contents are worth all the mess. -Ashley E.
Being a mom has been so rewarding watching her grow into a beautiful little human with all her personalities depending on her mood. I wouldn’t trade it for the world! -Bailey M.
I have two kids, 11 and 10. My favorite thing about being a mom is when we say goodbye in the morning, they ask, “What are we going to do today?” We all answer together with,“We’re going to rock it!” That’s how I know I’m going to have a great day. -Alexandra R.
When my son was one, we took him to IHOP for breakfast. He affectionately called it "Happy House" because of their logo. To this day, we still call it Happy House. -Annie G.
When my son was three, we lived in England. I was pregnant with our daughter, and to get him used to the idea of having a baby sister, one day, I gave him a little baby doll. I told him to cradle the “baby” and be gentle. After a few minutes of this, he became bored and asked in his little English accent, “Mum, shall we throw her in the rubbish now?” To this day, they are best friends, but admittedly it was a shaky start. -Martha G.
