Schmidt House history talks continue
In cooperation with the City of Tumwater Parks and Recreation, the “Heritage Builders” local history program of the Olympia Tumwater Foundation offers a free monthly on-line noon hour history talk series called “Fireside History.” The talks are hosted from the Schmidt House over zoom.
Wednesday, April 13, 2022 @ noon, with Rich Edwards, historian for the City of Tenino. He’ll be presenting a fresh look at how Tenino got its name, something that has been in dispute since the early 1900s.
Wednesday, May 11 @ noon, will feature author and the former director of the Washington State Historical Society, David Nicandri, with his book "Captain Cook Rediscovered: Voyage to the Icy Latitudes".
Wednesday, June 8 @ noon, will be author and editor Sandy Crowell, talking about the 2nd printing of the Thurston County history book "Water, Woods, and Prairies".
