O Bee Credit Union’s Member Scholarship Program
O Bee awards five scholarships for each academic year to members of O Bee. The student applicants must be members in good standing of O Bee Credit Union and must attend an accredited university, college or trade school during the specific academic year. All funds must be used during the awarded year and cannot be carried forward to the next academic year. The amounts of these scholarships total $5,000 as follows: one award for $1,500; two for $1,000 each and two for $750 each.

Applications for this scholarship program are available to college students of all ages and grade levels. We ask for some basic information about the student and about their choice of schools. We also request financial information to help us in determining the potential need based on financial resources and the cost of school attendance. We ask the student to tell us a little bit about their need for a scholarship and about any employment opportunities that may be available during the school year.

O Bee Credit Union’s High School Scholarships
Originally, O Bee had given a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from each of the two Tumwater High Schools. In 2003, that program expanded to include Tenino High School, Rainier High School and Rochester High School. The scholarship awards are based on need, rather than academics. Some of these high schools have a program that helps the students develop a "scholarship notebook". The information we review comes from these notebooks or scholarship applications and sometimes from recommendations by the counselors.
